How does it actually work?

Pick a group, tap its WhatsApp button, and send the pre-written message - a real Doha moderator reads it and adds you, usually within a few hours and almost always inside 48. No downloads, no login screen, no cost.

Is it free?

Yes, completely. No fee to join any Doha People Club group, ever. Your number isn't sold, the chat isn't used for spam, and there's no advertising inside the groups.

Can I join more than one group?

Accepted Answer

Yes - most people end up in several. A desert-trip regular who also does Friday padel and a Thursday networking dinner just joins Desert Adventures, Fitness & Padel and Business Networking and toggles between them. Average member: 2 to 4 groups.

Question 4

What's the group size? Won't it be spammy?

We cap every group well under 250 people and moderate actively - nobody wants to scroll past crypto spam to find the Friday plan. Post something off-topic and it (and sometimes the poster) gets removed. This stays a members' chat, not a marketing channel.

I'm only in Doha for 5 days. Worth joining?

Especially worth it. Stopover Travelers - 10 Days exists for exactly this - one message and you're at a Souq Waqif welcome dinner within a day or two, sharing an airport taxi with people who landed the same week you did.

Almost everything here runs through it - taxis, padel court bookings, the desert-trip operators, even some doctors' offices. It's worth the five-minute install just for your time in Doha. If it's genuinely not an option for you, reach us through the contact page and we'll sort out another way in.

Are these groups safe? Vetted?

Every join request comes with a short intro first - a photo, your first name, where you're from, and which group you're after. Anyone reported for harassment or scamming gets removed, no second chances. This runs as a community, not a listings site.

Who runs this?

A small group of long-term Doha residents and regular travellers runs Doha People Club, built on the idea that nobody should be new here alone. It began as a single WhatsApp group in 2021 and has since grown into ten. Still a passion project, not a business.
